As the coronavirus (COVID-19) has begun to impact our local community, Greece Dermatological Associates wants to let our patients know that the health and safety of our patients and our team is of the utmost importance to us. We have been working diligently in these past few weeks to ensure appropriate measures are in place so we have the least amount of disruption to “business as usual”.
First and foremost, Greece Dermatological Associates practices Universal Precautions every day, not just in the event of a health outbreak. Universal Precautions includes hand washing, hand sanitizing, wearing protective equipment (gloves and masks), sterilization and disinfection of all instruments, chairs, etc. after EVERY PATIENT. By following these precautions our team stays safe and our patients stay safe.
We have removed magazines and brochures from our reception area for the time being. All surfaces of the reception area including the front doors, counters, doorknobs, bathrooms, etc. are being disinfected multiple times a day.
Please know that any member of our team who is sick, running a fever, or who may have been in contact with someone who is sick has been advised not to come to work.
We do kindly ask that ALL OF OUR PATIENTS please help too. If you or a family member is sick, please call to reschedule your appointment. There will be no fee for doing so. We will gladly reschedule you. We ask that if possible, please do not bring other guests or family members to your appointment, or please have them wait in the car. If you have a non-urgent appointment that you would prefer to reschedule, please call for a new appointment and we will accommodate you.
We recommend that patients keep their appointments for skin cancer surgery, open sores, rashes that are symptomatic, spreading, or infected, or medicines that are being monitored such as Accutane, Biologics and methotrexate. These medical problems will worsen if left untreated. The hospitals do not want you in the emergency room for these Dermatologic conditions.
Beginning May 4 our office will resume more normal business hours. Monday through Thursday phone hours will be 8:30a – 4:00p and Friday 8:30a – noon, and patient appointments will be those same hours, either in the office or virtually. We are calling patients to confirm or reschedule all appointments. If a patient has an urgent issue and needs to come in, they will be given a timed appointment (as normal). If they are rescheduling for a video visit, they will be given a window of time. A video visit is a secure and convenient way to get the skincare you need now instead of waiting for a future appointment. If you prefer, or have a non-urgent matter, you will be rescheduled into the future (3 months or beyond).
Our team will continue to work hard to preserve the well-being and health of our patients while practicing the guidelines of the Center for Disease Control and Prevention.
